We love Ibiza – the original location for the HolyMama retreats. This island of light has the perfect energy for yoga, meditation, healing, dancing and transformation.

Legend says there are crystals under the earth in Ibiza which is why everything vibrates at a higher frequency; others say it is one of the most magnetic spots on the planet working as an energy vortex.

Either way Ibiza makes people feel different; freer maybe. This island can also polarise things you need to transform because Ibiza is assigned to the ‘scorpio’ signature in astrology.

Ibiza is blessed with sunshine – with an average of 300 days a year of radiant rays. It is also a multi-cultural melting pot. Over 85 different nationalities reside on the island, alongside the nomadic travellers who come and go and the international tourists.

Claudia can tell you some stories about the island’s characters as she has also written about them in a beautiful, coffee table photography book called ‘Ibiza Portraits’.

THE HOLYMAMA EXPERIENCE

The HolyMama experience has become a movement that has rippled out across the world. It started off as a simple need. I was a mother of three young children living abroad, disconnected from her family and friends. I had a vision and took action. The first ever HolyMama retreat in 2013 was for five of my sister’s friends.

Over time the retreats grew to serve hundreds of mothers and children each year. At the peak of my activity I hosted 13 retreat weeks per year in Ibiza, Andalucia, Bali, Morocco and Goa. All of them fully booked and sold out to 18-20 mothers plus children per week.

In 2018 I started training and certifying retreat leaders, These now grace over 20 countries (you can see them here). HolyMama has changed the global landscape of retreating for mothers and children.

The warmth and genuine love emanating from the team was pure nectar for my tired soul. You cannot fake this sort of generosity, kindness and care.

It took me by surprise, at once melting my dwindling facade of strength and stamina and allowing me at last to crumple and soften a little, resting in the knowledge that I would be held in support for the next five days. This is a priceless experience.
